A friend of mine has a camera and is a keen photographer. I am thinking of asking him/her to take my wedding photos as I wish to save some money

All I say to that is if that is what you want then go right ahead. But just think for a moment….. a wedding day is one of the most important days of any person’s life, and in years to come you want to look back on photos to bring these memories back to life. If you get an amateur to do this important job and if things don’t work out, then what do you do?? I have photographed weddings where equipment just gave up. One in particular last year where a flash bulb blew. I just went to my camera bag and picked up a spare flash and carried on as if nothing had happened. The point that I’m trying to make here is if you get a non professional to photograph your wedding this could happen. Would they have spare equipment ready at hand??

My business is my bread and butter and if I did a wedding and the photos were ruined for any reason I also would be ruined. A non professional can walk away and just say SORRY……

How long is Louis Carr Photography established?

Louis Carr Photography has been established for over 10 years.

Does Louis Carr Photography do wedding DVDs as well?

Yes of course. There are two full time professional videographers working for Louis Carr Photography.

If I book both photography and DVD from Louis Carr Photography, is there a special rate for this?

Yes of course, we do a combo package of our popular story book album and three copies of your DVD for €2075.

Do you bring an assistant with you to the weddings?

Any professional photographer worth their salt doesn't need an assistant. We have all been at weddings where there is an assistant running around after the photographer carrying lenses; spare cameras; shouting orders to the bridal party and fixing cuff links/button holes etc. You pay for this assistant. If you book photography and video with Louis Carr Photography you will have 2 people – one photographer and one videographer.

How do I get my photos or proofs to view them?

You will get them on a PDF slide show to view them. You get two copies of the slideshow; one for the couple and one for family and friends. You will also recieve a soft back book containing you images, we are giving this free for 2011!!

How long after the wedding will it take for my proofs to arrive?

Here at Louis Carr Photography we aim to have the proofs ready in 5 to 6 weeks.

Do I get a disc of high resolution photos so I can view them on a laptop or HD-TV and how much does it cost?

When you collect your album you get a disc containing the same photos that is on you slide show, these are saved as full resolution JPEG Images so you can view them on your HD-TV or Laptop. You can print to any size you want...and it’s free!!

Does Louis Carr Photography go to the grooms house and the brides house in the morning and how much extra does it cost?

It is the norm for us to go to the brides house on the morning of the wedding. I can go to the grooms house before hand provided that he is not to far away. There is no charge for this service.

How long does it take Louis Carr Photography to do family and bridal shots?

In all it can take between 30 to 40 minutes with the least amount of fuss. This means that you have more time to spend with your family, friends and guests.

What time does the photos and DVD finish at?

The photos normally finish before the meal and the DVD finishes at midnight. I personally oversee the DVD in the evening and if you would like extra photos taken in the evening, just let me know.

Does Louis Carr Photography have any extras with the DVD and how much do they cost?

(1) The DVD costs €1100 in total

(2) Use of three professional video cameras for the church and one for the reception

(3) Diary Room. Guests giving special messages for the bride and groom

(4) The use of a pilot steady cam on the day to capture special moments through out the day

(5) All are at no extra cost to the bride and groom

Can I pick the music for my DVD or supply special songs that I want in the DVD?

Yes of course! The easiest way is to email your choice of around 30 songs titles and artists to info@lcarrphotography.com and we will take care of the rest.

I sent in the songs, How long do I have to wait for my DVD?

From when you have everything you required for to complete the DVD, we can have it back to you in a couple of weeks, depending on how busy we are.

Do you take weekend and evening appointments?

I want to book Louis Carr Photography, how much is the deposit?

A deposit of €300 secures your date. On the wedding day payment of 70% of what is left to be paid is required, and the final amount is due on the collection of the photo album and DVD.

I am very interested in your packages, what do Louis Carr Photography prices start from?

For just €975 gets you a 40 page story book album and a printable disc!

What type of albums does Louis Carr Photography do?

About 90% of the albums that we do are of the story book format, they will never look dated. You get more photos per page and you can get a personalized cover. We also do two different sized traditional albums; one contains 30 photos and the other is more contemporary with 60 pages. We have something for all tastes and budgets!

I have decided on the album I want, can I have an input into layout of my album?

Your album will be designed by Louis with you in our office in Craughwell. This can take a few hours. We will arrange a suitable time and date for all parties to design the album.

Do you charge mileage to photograph my wedding if it is outside of Galway?

No we don't charge mileage.
